For ages the Dove has been a symbol of peace and love. Because they mate for life, the release of White Doves at a wedding symbolizes the commitment between husband and wife. When released, these pure white Doves join in the air, representing the unity of matrimony, and then instinctively fly back to their nest, symbolizing the bride and groom “flying off” on a new adventure together.
Lovebirds Release
The Bride and Groom each hold a Dove and together release them by hand. Once released, the Doves know to join in flight and find their way home together. The unity of husband and wife is symbolized by their tandem flight.
Flock Release
With the Lovebirds leading the way, an accompanying Flock is released to join them in the air, adding an even more dramatic effect. A child or member of the wedding party may be invited to release the Flock from their decorative basket.
Display Doves
Two white doves in a decorative cage will add elegance to your wedding reception, symbolizing the unity of the newlyweds. The Guests of Honour may be positioned alongside the guestbook, the wedding cake, the head table, or a location of your choosing.
